Why We Love Olive Squalane

Why We Love Olive Squalane

A big part of taking care of your body, and your skin, is understanding the products that you’re putting into, and onto, yourself! The first thing I do when I buy anything - food, sunscreen, lotion, whatever - is flip it over and look at the ingredients list. Sugar is the first ingredient? Probably not landing on my kids’ lunchbox shelf. A chemical I can’t pronounce? Why would I want that on my skin?! So, when I flipped over my Beauty From Bees Facial Moisture Absolute and read the first ingredient, I had to smile. Olive Squalane. That sounds so natural, so health-conscious...but what exactly is it? I know, beyond a doubt, that all of my Beauty From Bees products are made from only the best ingredients, and things that will benefit my skin and my health...but I’ve never heard of olive squalane. Have you?

As it turns out, Olive Squalane isn’t as scary as it sounds. Squalane is just a fancy word that basically describes the type of molecule that is taken out of the olive oil (which we already knew was good for us, so yay!). What’s special about squalane molecules, is that they’re super light, easily absorbed, so instead of sitting on top of your skin like a lot of lotions and creams can do, this stuff is really absorbed, down into those layers that really need it! Because it penetrates those top layers so easily, it’s a great carrier oil for other ingredients that wouldn’t normally be able to make it that far into your skin! So, instead of slapping that cream on top of your skin and it sweating, rinsing, and rubbing off throughout the day, the Facial Moisture Absolute actually absorbs into your skin!

Why else do you want to use Olive Squalane on your skin? It fights those nasty free radicals that we know cause so much damage and signs of aging, and works to clear up and prevent skin conditions like eczema and acne. It also promotes blood flow, giving your skin that gorgeous, healthy glow that you were born to wear!

Read the ingredients, and remember - what you put ON your skin is often absorbed INTO your skin. That can be a really great thing, if you’re using products that contain ingredients that are good for your body, or that can be a really scary thing, when the majority of the ingredients on your product aren’t things you really want floating around in your bloodstream. Olive Squalane? Definitely on the list of things you want to be putting on your body!
