Seriously, Wash Your Face

Seriously, Wash Your Face

Wash your face. You hear it all the time. It’s important, and you need to wash your face. I know. I get it. I heard you, mom. But...why? You see, I never really outgrew the WHY stage of toddlerhood. I’m all about following the rules, and doing what I’m told...when it’s justified. I brush my teeth because I don’t want cavities. I wear my seatbelt because I don’t think I’d look really good if I flew through the windshield. I pack healthy lunches for my kids, because I understand the importance of a healthy diet. But, why do I actually need to wash my face? I didn’t roll in mud. I rarely wear makeup. I don’t generally smear food across my cheeks. Do I really need to wash my face, and is twice a day really necessary?

Actually, it turns out, it is. Justification? Here’s three reasons why you should be washing your face, and washing it regularly!

First, it removes nasty buildup. That includes the makeup you wear, the food you dribble, and also the bacteria, pollutants, viruses, and other nasty things your face comes into contact with every day. Unlike your body, which is generally covered in clothing, your face doesn’t have much protection from the elements. Washing your face every evening takes away all that dead skin, and the gunk that’s landed on it!

Second, it hydrates your skin! Bill Nye taught me that my body is made up mostly of water, and that my skin is the largest organ in my body, so it makes sense that it would benefit from a little hydration! Washing your skin with a hydrating cleanser, like the Beauty From Bees Vitamin C Facial Cleanser is a great way to balance the pH of your skin, letting the water in, and taking the bad stuff out. You’ve seen what a piece of fruit looks like when it dries out - don’t let that be your face!

Lastly, washing your face is the best way to keep your skin looking clear, and keeping breakouts and blemishes at bay! Your skin naturally produces a protective oil called sebum. Too much buildup on your skin prevents this oil from reaching the surface of the skin, where it helps to block bacteria and other harmful things from penetrating your skin. Not enough sebum, and you’re going to break out. Take away the bad stuff, let the good stuff make its way to the surface, and your complexion will be as glowing as your Instagram filters make the world think it is!

The Beauty From Bees Refresh and Renew Collection is specially designed to work with your skin, and not against it. It naturally enhances your skin’s own beauty, allowing it to function the way that it should. And when your skin is treated right, it looks its best, and that’s all any of us really want at the end of the day! Your mom was right - you really do need to eat your vegetables, wear your seatbelt, and definitely don’t forget to wash your face!
