What's your favourite way to unwind at the end of a long day? For me, it's a long, hot bath, with a good squirt of my trusty Beauty From Bees Bubble Bath (and probably a glass of wine if I'm being honest...) Now, wanting to have a bath, and needing to have a bath are two different things, right? There's really no scientific evidence that I can email to my husband to force him to believe that my evening soaks are actually vitally important for my health, is there?
Actually, there is, and I am SO here for it. That long, hot soak can do just as much for your physical health as your mental health, and I can't say I'm really surprised! Here's a few of the reasons why you should absolutely be filling that tub tonight, and every night you want!
1. Physical health- Hot water has been shown to lower both your blood sugar and blood pressure, relieve muscle tension, and improve your blood circulation! Bathing has also been shown to help relieve cold and flu symptoms, and reduce headaches! It's like a whole body tune-up, from the comfort of your bathroom. I don't know about you, but those all sound like pretty good reasons to soak it out, to me!
2. Skin health- A good soak in a hot tub can help to clear the toxins out of your skin, leaving you with cleaner, healthier skin! The warm water also leaves your skin moisturized, so it's looking and feeling its very best. You can increase these effects by adding some of your favourite Beauty From Bees Bubble Bath! Feeling good, and looking good? Sign me all the way up.
3. Mental health- A hot bath has been shown to help lower stress and anxiety, leaving you feeling physically better, more confident, and relaxed! I don't know about you, but I'm all for feeling less stress and anxiety these days, and if I can up my mental health while also taking care of my body and my skin, I'm definitely in! Call it a mini vacation, spa day, and therapy session all at once.
The day is done, the kids are (hopefully) asleep, and my time begins. I could spend that time binge-watching old re-runs, or I could take care of my whole body, inside and out ... while also binge-watching my favourite re-runs, because waterproof phone cases are life. You spend your days taking care of your family, and everyone around you. Don't forget to also take time to take care of yourself!
